Note Note Enroll today!

Chapel Hill School of Musical Arts is excited to launch Foundations in Music, a new class for young children ages 2–5, beginning Wednesday, September 9.

This playful, engaging class introduces young students to the building blocks of music through rhythm, pitch, movement, listening, creativity, and simple musical games. Designed with young learners in mind, Foundations in Music gives children the chance to explore music in a joyful group setting while building skills that can support future private lessons, ensemble experiences, and a lifelong curiosity for music.

Foundations in Music is geared toward children who are interested in music but may still be too young to join us for private lessons just yet. This class introduces all the key concepts that form the foundation of musicality, giving children a strong head start when they begin formal music instruction. Even children who do not plan to pursue private lessons will enjoy an enriching and educational experience that develops listening skills, creativity, coordination, and a deeper appreciation for music and musicianship.
