Meet Robin Neville! 🪊 🎺 🎷 ![]()

When we say Robin brings experience to CHSMA, we mean over 37 years of experience in music education!![]()
Throughout her career, Robin taught middle school band and orchestra in Greensboro Public Schools, Lee County Schools, and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, helping generations of young musicians build strong foundations, confidence, and a lasting connection to music.![]()

Robin earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Morningside College and later completed her Master of Music at UNC Greensboro.![]()
![]()
Now, after an extraordinary career in the classroom, she is bringing that depth of knowledge to CHSMA as a trombone, trumpet, woodwind, and percussion instructor.![]()

Introducing Sofia Mouritsen, our newest trumpet faculty member! 🎺![]()

Originally from just south of Charlotte, Sofia began playing trumpet at age nine and went on to study at the Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College. Along the way, they performed in ensembles of all shapes and sizes — including a French-speaking brass band while studying abroad in Geneva, Switzerland!![]()

Sofia is passionate about showing students just how versatile the trumpet can be and especially enjoys the community that comes from making music with others. Locally, Sofia performs with the Chapel Hill Brass Ensemble and the Ambassadors Big Band and also sings with the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church choir.![]()

When not making music, Sofia enjoys biking, reading, spending time with their pets, and learning to play new instruments.![]()
