Her DMA in Vocal Performance hales from The University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she focused her research on the music of Black composers and the representation of the Black community, culminating in a dissertation lecture-recital based on the presentation song cycle, A Great Cloud of Witnesses, using original poetry and set to music by composer Jarrett Roseborough. Dr. Wright-Harris is currently adjunct faculty at Fayetteville State University, where she has a thriving voice studio, and will be joining in the Fall Wingate University, as adjunct faculty. She has a fruitful career singing both Mezzo and Soprano roles including Serena (Porgy and Bess), Mamie (Emmett Till: An Opera in Three Acts), Mary (William Grant Still’s Opera Highway 1, USA), and Mère Marie (Dialogue of the Carmelites).
