Jason Rune
Teacher: Voice
Jason Rune is a teacher who believes there is no single path to becoming a great performer. As a trans man himself, Jason loves studying gender affirming pedagogy and performance. He also actively studies neurodiverse, and differently abled approaches to musical study. Currently, Jason’s work focuses on chronic illnesses such as POTS and hEDS- and its impact on university music students. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
As a performer, Jason has had the honor of exploring a wide range of genres including opera, jazz, musical theatre, and contemporary music. He has performed as a solo artist and has served as a judge in multiple voice competitions. Some of his recent performance credits include Aeneas (Dido and Aeneas), Cliff Bradshaw (Cabaret), Don Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro), Buddy (Sideshow), and Man 1/Tenor (Songs for a New World).
