Senior Musical Theatre Instructor

Chuck Higgins is a seasoned performer and educator with over fifteen years of professional experience as a singer and actor. He has appeared in opera, musical theatre, and concert performances across the Eastern United States, including Carnegie Hall and major symphony orchestras. His career began at Disney World as a member of the elite Kids of the Kingdom singer/dancer troupe, where he performed alongside film and stage icons and worked in television with the Disney Corporation.

As a soloist, Chuck has been featured in Verdi’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall and performed under the direction of Robert Shaw in Handel’s Messiah and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. His work has also been showcased on Georgia Public Television, and he has performed with various symphonies and theatre companies throughout the U.S.

Chuck holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Stetson University, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting, and multiple professional certifications, including Music Theater CCM (pop/rock) Singing Styles, Science-Informed Vocal Pedagogy, and Choral Conducting. In addition to his performance career, he has directed over twenty-five musicals and brings extensive expertise in audition preparation, vocal technique, and performance coaching.

A dedicated educator, Chuck’s students have consistently excelled at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competitions, earning first-place finishes in North Carolina and national recognition. Many have gone on to perform professionally on Broadway, national tours, cruise lines, regional theaters, film, and television, including major networks like NBC, FOX, and Netflix. His students have also been accepted into top-tier music and theatre programs, including Boston Conservatory, NYU, Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, and UNC School of the Arts.

With his diverse background in opera, musical theatre, acting techniques (Meisner, Method, mime), and choral conducting, Chuck is passionate about helping students develop both technical excellence and compelling stage presence.
