Miles Jenkins

Teacher: Voice

Tenor Miles Jenkins is an emerging artist who has begun accumulating quite a few regional credits. In his young career, he has performed opera, concert works, and musical theater across the southern United States. His past performances include the likes of Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, and the title role in Bernstein’s Candide. Miles is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee – Knoxville where he received his Master of Music degree in vocal performance and was also an active member of the Knoxville Opera Studio.

In addition to his performance credits, Miles has found great passion in teaching voice and music to students of all ages. He loves experiencing others’ growth in their own creative and musical abilities. He says, “The best aspect of teaching is having the opportunity to be a part of a calling that is bigger than myself. There is no greater purpose than helping to mold the minds and hearts of the next generation.” Miles currently teaches voice at CHSMA as well as PreK-8th grade music and choir at Triangle Day School in Durham, NC. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in both music education and vocal performance from the University of Montevallo in Alabama.
