Kerby is a graduate of East Carolina University where she obtained her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy. Previously she graduated from Furman University. She was primarily trained classically, but loves to sing and teach in all genres.
Kerby has performed many operatic and theatre roles, including: Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music, Poppea in The Coronation of Poppea, Cosette in Les Misérables, Portia (u/s) in Something Rotten!, and Penny in Hairspray. She currently performs with the North Carolina Opera and is a member of Servire, a professional vocal ensemble.
Kerby believes that every student is different, and her teaching is therefore tailored uniquely to each student’s personality and learning style. She always wants to meet students where they are! While offering knowledge and tools to help them progress, it is her hope to inspire her students to love singing as much as she does.
