Ellie is from Metro Detroit and recently moved to North Carolina. Her love for music and the stage developed at the age of four, when her Grandparents took her to see her first Broadway musical. Ellie loves sharing her passion for music through teaching and performing! She had influential educators throughout her life who inspired her to pursue music as a career.
Ellie received a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Oakland University. During her time at OU, she performed in various operas, including the role of Adele in Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II. Ellie has taught both Elementary and Middle school music, directed music for youth community theatre programs and taught private voice lessons. Additionally, she has performed at various events such as weddings and corporate gatherings with the Rick Lieder Band.
Ellie understands that students have different prior experiences and it is important to cater to the needs of each individual. She strives to help students become confident in their unique sound and have the tools necessary to work independently on their singing, with an emphasis on healthy vocal technique focused on sensation. Moreover, Ellie desires to foster a love and passion for singing and performing and an understanding that music can heal the soul. She enjoys teaching all styles of music, from classical to contemporary. Ellie is excited to join the team at CHSMA and looks forward to continuing teaching music!
